It seems there is a lot of support for a multi-game Iron Builder. I like the idea but unfortunately I only know one rule system.
The next request I have is if people could start posting compositions for standard games online in this forum. Games like Warmachine, Flames/Wings of War, WHF and pretty much anything anyone could think of would be great. Let people who play other systems know about this, I think most people view the IB forum as a WH40k only forum.
If I have this information I might be able to hammer out with the assistance of others a decent weighting system for the IB III.
Given that Warmachine is currently in the throws of their own IB (Thanks Chris) I don't think the next IB will be for quite a while so they can be included without putting them through too much hardship.
Note that I am not giving up on the idea of having something radically different, it's just that this seems to have quite a bit of support
Personally, I think they ought to be sourced out to individuals to run them at the same time, like the leagues are. Trying to encompass all systems under one competition would be terribly confusing. After all; there's a lot more painting in a WHFB/FoW army than a 40k/Warmachine/Malifaux army, so pitting these systems against each other for one prize would be a little unfair. _________________ "Nothing can happen till you swing the bat."
What about breaking the Iron Builder into categories: large, medium, and small, with large being over 100 models, small being fewer than 20, and medium being in between? That way, we could have WFB/40K/CAoR/etc in the large, Warmachine/Hordes in the medium, and Infinity/Malifaux/Bloodbowl in the small.
Would that get more participants?
(feel free to adjust the numbers, they're illustrative anyway).
